APPENDIX 7. HOME TASK.
Speak about the CPU, its components and functions. Make up at least 6-8 sentences.

1. CPU is the brain of a computer.

2. It executes instructions and coordinates the activities of all the other units.

3. CPU has 3 components:

4. a) the control unit, which examines instructions from memory and executes them;

5. b) the arithmetic and logic unit (ALU), which performs arithmetic and logical operations;

6. c) the registers, high-speed units of memory used to store and control data.

7. The speed of CPU is measured in GHz.

8. The main circuit board is known as a motherboard. This contains the CPU, the memory chips, expansion slots and controllers for peripherals, connected by internal buses, or paths, that carry electronic signals. For example, the front side bus carries all data that passes from the CPU to other devices.
