Multimedia has been used in many aspects in our lives, for examples in the field of business, entertainment and the sciences .

“Multimedia” comes from the word “multi” and “media”. “Multi” means various. “Media” refers to any hardware or software used for communicating. These are some examples of hardware and software that we use in communicating with others:

PDA, animation, printer, CD, text, audio, CPU.

The Multimedia principal states that courses should include both words and graphics. Words include printed and spoken and graphics include drawings, illustrations, charts, maps, photos, animation or video. Multimedia presentations can encourage learners to actively engage in learning.
