1.2 Linguistic component in teaching a foreign language using visualization.
In linguistics and in methodology, such concepts as language and speech are traditionally distinguished. They are two sides of the same phenomenon, while they have a number of differences.
Modern linguistics understands language as a socially significant code and the rules of its functioning, fixed in the minds of a group of people. In other words, language is a system of language tools necessary for communication and the rules for their use. Speech is understood as the implementation of the language system in specific acts of communication. The concept of "speech" includes both the process itself and the products of this process - speech works. / 12 /
There are units of language and units of speech.
The units of the language include: phonemes, morphemes, words, phraseological combinations (sentences), micro- and macrotexts.
Thus, a word, a phrase, a sentence can be attributed both to units of language and to units of speech. The main difference lies in the fact that the language units are organized according to the formal-semantic feature, while the speech units are organized according to the semantic -communicative feature./ 13/
There is no doubt that language and speech units are remembered and reproduced by students with the help of visualization. Visual methods are also effectively used to introduce new lexical units. / 12 /
The content of teaching a foreign language is influenced by such a branch of linguistics as sociolinguistics, which studies the relationship between language and culture, language and society. Therefore, it is necessary to teach a foreign language not only as a new code, but also as a source of information about the national culture of the people. / 13 /
The modern methodology of teaching a foreign language is characterized by the desire to include country-specific information from geography, history, in particular texts for listening and reading. This methodological position was designated as linguo-cultural studies. Linguistic and cultural teaching helps students to master natural, historical realities, spiritual values and thus realize the educational goal - to give a correct interpretation of the events, facts that students learn in the target language. The principle of visibility will help in the implementation of linguistic and cultural teaching. For example, watching an educational film of the country of the language being studied, and without the use of television it is impossible to do this, which also applies to the principle of visibility. / 20 /
Thus, the linguistic component includes strictly selected phonetic, grammatical, lexical minimums and speech material: samples of speech utterances of different lengths, situationally and thematically conditioned. In English lessons, visual methods should be used, as they help students to better understand and reproduce English words. Visual methods are used to develop the communication skills of students, which is one of the main tasks of the process of education and upbringing. / 12 /
