The University of Delaware is located along the northeast corridor of the U.S., about midway between Baltimore and Philadelphia, along Interstate 95. Driving time is approximately two-and-a-half hours from New York City, less than two hours from Washington, D.C., an hour from Baltimore (an hour and fifteen minutes from BWI Airport), and an hour from Philadelphia (45 minutes from Philadelphia International Airport).

From Philadelphia:
Take Interstate 95 South. (As an alternate around Wilmington, Delaware, you
may take I-495. It merges with I-95 south of Wilmington.)
Continue on Interstate 95 South to Exit 3 (Del. Rt. 273). Exit onto Rt. 273 west (bearing right on exit ramp) and continue into Newark (this two-lane road becomes East Main Street just after intersecting with Del. Rt. 72). Once on East Main Street, move into the left lane, go through four stoplights, and at the fifth stoplight you'll turn left onto Academy Street.
You are now within a block and a half of Graham Hall, the building that houses IPA, which faces Academy Street on the left, just past the next intersection (Delaware Avenue). For visitor parking, continue past Graham Hall on Academy Street and look for the Perkins Student Center parking garage, the entrance to which is just past Perkins Student Center (on your left). Or you may be lucky enough to find on-street metered parking nearest Graham Hall.

From New York via New Jersey Turnpike:
The southern termination point of the New Jersey Turnpike merges with
Interstate 295 and will take you across the Delaware Memorial Bridge. I-295 will then merge will Interstate 95. Make sure you follow signs for I-95 south (toward Newark and Baltimore).

From Washington and Baltimore:
Take Interstate 95 North.
Continue to exit 109B (Look for "Elkton/Newark, Del." and "University of
Delaware" signs).
Exit at 109B onto Md. Rt. 279, which heads northeast towards Newark. At the
Maryland-Delaware state line, Rt. 279 becomes Del. Rt. 2 (Elkton Road) and feeds you directly into Newark. Elkton Road will eventually end and force you to take a right turn onto Delaware Avenue. At your second stoplight, you're at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and South College Avenue. Proceed to your next intersection. Turn right onto Academy Street.
