Glossary

  1. Textbooks –a book containing a comprehensive compilation of content in a branch of study with the intention of explaining it.

  2. Audio lingual-is a method used in teaching foreign language. It based on behaviorist theory.

  3. Fluency-is defined as the ability to read with speed, accuracy and proper expression.

  4. ESL- English as a second Language

  5. CEFR-Common European Framework of Reference.

  6. Physical activities-is any physical activity done in the classroom.

  7. Curriculum –is a document created by Government for teachers.

  8. Activity based learning-is the process of learning by performing tasks or activities.

  9. Exploration – gathering knowledge and acquiring skills through active investigation.

  10. Experimentation – gathering knowledge through experience, process of doing.

  11. Expression – encouraging kids to express their views through presentation.

  12. Game-based Learning

  13. Charade

  14. Authentic use- means exposure to or practice of real language use

  15. Dialogic teaching-involves ongoing talk between teacher and students, not just teacher-presentation.

  16. Educational technologies- digital technology used to facilitate learning.

  17. Flipped learning-is an instructional strategy and a type of blended learning, which aims to increase student engagement and learning by having pupils complete readings at home and work on live problem-solving during class time
