titles of chapters, however there is an epigraph taken from the tragedy of ancient 
philosopher Sophocles "King Oedipus": Alas, how terrible is wisdom when it brings 
no profit to the man that’s wise. Even before becoming acquainted with the storyline 
of the novel, the author gives to the reader that some knowledge possessed by heroes 
works, can play a trick on them and turn against them or, on the contrary, due to human 
natural fears of the new and unknown, prevent something important from happening. 
There by communicative the author’s intent and attitude towards the main character 
becomes more obvious - the writer, sympathizing with the heroes, sympathizes with 
them insolvency and states a sad outcome.

SIGNIFICANCE AND ESSENTIAL TIPS OF REPORT WRITING

This article dedicated to the concept and importance of writing report and 
shows some necessary tips to improve report-writing skill for learners.
Key words: formal writing, choosing words, description, title page, structure, 
draft, analyzing findings, including recommendations, needed contents: tables, facts, 
experienced events, final revising.
Reports are concise and have a formal structure. They are often used to 
communicate the results or findings of a project. There are a number of types of reports, 
ranging from business to research and scientific reports depending on the avenues. 
However, the fundamental steps to write them are the same for all types.
This type of writing is considered a major component of the research study for 
the research task remains incomplete till the report has been presented and written. The 
purpose of report writing is not well served unless the findings are made known to the 
public.
Writing a report transfers the past and elements of a project or occurrence to 
the people, who did not exist there, for their experiences. It is therefore a highly useful 
record of the past and a summary of decisions made and acted upon and the result of 
these decisions.
English writing has been disregarded for the past time due to the dominance of 
speaking. The audiolinguistic approach and communicative approach have somehow 
overlooked the importance of writing while teachers taught students translation as the 
primary writing activity. Although, the Grammar-Translation method has been greatly 
criticized, it has not completely disappeared. Following Widdowson, communicative 
writing is defined as correspondence, distinct from the more basic ideas of writing and 
composition. It is a writing activity through which one tries to effectively communicate
