APPENDIX 5. LANGUAGE. Complex object 
Discuss the handout and do exercise. 
Complex object includes whatever you have used to describe that simple object identified from 
above. For example, any adjectives, prepositional phrases, adverbs, etc. that apply only to the 
object noun are considered part of the complex object. 
He found his door not to be opened.
Divide this sentence into two independent. The first one is 
He found
. The second one is 
His 
door was not opened.
Making the conclusion, the main verb in our example is “found”. The 
object consists of whole conception “his door not to be opened”. In general, the purpose of 
Complex Object’s usage is in simplification of syntaxes. It helps in usage of simple sentence 
instead of complicated one. 
After which verbs should we use Complex Object? 

Verbs of sensuous awareness.
We express our feelings, sensations and experiences with 
the help of them. It is important to notice that you should use Active Voice and Infinitive 
without particle to after such verbs. 
I saw somebody enter the house. 

Verbs of desire and construction I/we/you/they/he/she should like: 
They wish them to 
come to their meeting. 

Verbs, which express request, inquiry, permission: 
The workers requested the salary 
to be paid for them
