Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD):
Adoles-
cents with BPD may be comorbid for other per-
sonality disorders and psychiatric disorders – a
common feature amongst disturbed forensic pop-
ulations [8]. The life course outcome for indi-
viduals with BPD suggests that the dysfunctional
behaviour will wane in their 30s and 40s. Mean-
while, clinical experience shows that these individ-
uals can create havoc amongst their own families,
within agencies and in society. Hence, identifica-
tion of adolescents at risk of acquiring BPD is
important in preventing offending, incarceration
and subsequent poor parenting [19].
