Consequently [Adverb] (as a result; therefore (used to say something that happens because of something else)).
She didn't like the pudding; consequently, she threw it all away.
Tom decided not to use a map; consequently, he got lost and never found his way out of the forest.
He didn’t study for his test; consequently, he failed.
Address [Verb] (to try to deal with a problem).
The problems created by traffic pollution must be addressed urgently. Social problems must be addressed by community networks.
Compulsion [Noun] (the state of being compelled to do something that you do not want to do).
The legal system is based on compulsion.
The child felt a compulsion to run as he walked past the old house.
Compel [Verb] (to force someone to do something).
The law will compel employers to provide health insurance.
The teacher cannot compel good work from unwilling students.
Unregulated [Adjective] (not controlled or supervised by laws or rules).
The unregulated sale of tobacco to children must be dealt with by the police.
Free enterprise is the unregulated market in which businesses are free to buy and sell.
To impose discipline [Verb] (to make people obey the rules of a particular organization (school or college)).
He reacted by imposing tough discipline and demanding better results. Management imposed discipline that is too harsh.
If teachers fail to impose discipline in class, then students will not learn anything.
BUSINESS
Fast food chain [Noun] (a network of restaurants serving fast food like McDonald’s, KFC, etc).
The McDonald’s fast food chain opened hundreds of restaurants in China.
This fast food chain has become enormously successful in serving food that is relatively unhealthy.
Collective level [Noun] (done by people acting as a group).
This problem must be solved on a collective level, not an individual level.
Build up [Verb] (to develop).
It is important for companies to build up a good relationship with their clients/customers.
If you want to sell more, you have to build up a good relationship with your customers.
