METHODS OF TEACHING ENGLISH
TO PRESCHOOL CHILDREN

Annotation: 
Currently, the modern conditions in our country and the wide range of language 
learning methods created in all preschool institutions of the country will greatly help your child to 
develop an interest in foreign languages in kindergarten.

It’s good that your children know foreign languages such as Russian, Turkish and especially En-
glish, as a foreign language in our country. However sometimes parents get in trouble teaching their 
children by themselves at home because of their work or other problems. It is the best way to send 
the child to a special language kindergarten where languages are taught very well. Then you will not 
take such a serious responsibility, moreover, the child will have a similar “separation of languages” 
in the mind (at home - Uzbek for example, in kindergarten - English). You can support your child’s
development with games, cartoons, songs, etc., and this may help them to raise interest to language.
What language skills can preschoolers develop?
There are many techniques of teaching languages in kindergarten to children and now I’m going 
to clear up some of them to you. How to learn English with children: 5 specific methods.
1. Watch cartoons in English with your child. Do you think he doesn’t understand? You are 
wrong this age group has incredible language instincts. You may be surprised, but after watching the 
cartoon, he can start repeating the words, the hit songs from here which seem to be interesting to him. 
Also use special English cartoons to learn the language. It may be cartoons with short English songs 
for example.
2. “Learn” the easiest English words and phrases with your child which he or she can use in ev-
eryday life. For example: mom, dad, spoon, car and etc.
-”Oyijon, qarang - mashina!”
- “Ha,bu mashina.” Do you know what it will be like in English? 
-”Mom, look at this car!”
-”Yes, it is a car.”
Reinforce any word that should be there: toy, picture / photo for the word “dog” or have a dry and 
barking dog which can attract him to itself. (As you know to understand the methods well also you 
should act with him particularly encourage him or her.)
3. Learn kindergarten rhymes and songs with your child which are given to them. There are many 
superfine memorable songs for them such as:
Twinkle, twinkle little star
How I wonder what you are
Up above that world so high
Like a diamond in the sky
Twinkle, twinkle little star....
4. Read a book in English with your child. You can start by knowing that he knows certain 
words. Simple plots are very clear to children and pictures explain things that are not clear. Your task 
is to get him interested in reading. So as much as possible you should find book with pictures.

And remember that everything is the same, an e-book cannot be compared to a real book, you can 
touch it and then look at it with passion. So make sure you buy a few English books for your library!

Don’t forget that children are always interested in games than TV or education. So you should 
play with your child as much as you can.
Through the correct application of the techniques listed above, they develop a thirst for knowl-
edge, a passion for knowledge and language. In addition, all of the comprehensive manuals listed here 
are now available in every kindergarten and there are simple opportunities for language learning (e.g., 
song CDs, various cartoons, poems, etc.)
At the initiative of our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, electronic resources for teaching English 
have been prepared in every educational institution, and language classrooms have been equipped in 
many schools and academic lyceums. At the same time, the analysis of the current system of organiz-
ing the study of foreign languages shows that educational standards, curricula and textbooks are fully 
in line with modern requirements, in particular, the use of advanced information and media technol-
ogies. The organization of continuous learning of foreign languages at all stages of the education 
system, as well as the training of teachers and the provision of modern teaching materials require 
further improvement of kindergartens, school and lyceums. 
To sum up, perfect knowledge and development of modern foreign languages is necessary for 
each of us. As our great ancestors said, “Knowledge acquired in youth is like a pattern carved in 
stone”, so it is the duty of each of us to prepare the younger generation for the future using the wide 
range of conditions created in the period of intellectual development, especially in kindergartens.
