Introduction
English has already become an inseparable part of the world. It is taught as a mandatory element 
of national education in 142 countries. In 54 countries such as Singapore, New Zealand, India, and 
Malta, English is the official language. So wherever people go or even just live, they bump with this 
language. Spoken English is everywhere – when representatives of different cultures meet, they 
communicate in English; when a scientist writes a report or article for any international journal, it 
must be in English; when teenagers play a videogame, the instructions are in English; when a tourist 
asks help with direction, (in most cases) in English. English is not the UK’s or the USA’s anymore, it 
belongs to the entire world. English has become a global communication tool, to understand today’s 
world, it is important to be able to speak the world’s language. As mentioned above, English is taught 
as a mandatory element to get a skillful generation. In state schools, students study language with 
deep explanations and modern methods of teaching. However, the majority of young people still face 
problems with their speaking and listening skills. They can pass written exams with excellent results. 
When it comes to communicating, anything learned (by hard) is forgotten, disappeared, or lost while 
meeting a stranger in the street who’s asking direction. Despite, communicating does not always re-
quire grammar accuracy, most of the youth cannot just freely talk with native English speakers. The 
question is why the student cannot converse as great as their written work. What causes the trouble 
with spoken English? But why do we have trouble communicating in English after learning it in 
school? What is causing the stalemate in the conversation? If the most important aspect is communi-
cation, then why students are taught English grammar so deeply?
Several studies have been conducted in different countries to investigate issues related to lan-
guage teaching and the difficulties students face.
