Numerical methods of unsteady motion

Forecasting by numerical methods of operation of the pools of hydroelectric facilities built on eroded soils is dictated by the need to find optimal solutions due to the complex nature of the requirements for the designed hydroelectric complex. To meet these requirements, in many cases it is necessary to take into account the phenomena caused by the unsteady movement of water in eroded channels, for example, when floods are skipped and the power of the hydroelectric power station is regulated daily. The current knowledge of the problem of unsteady motion in eroded channels is insufficient to assess the influence of many factors in determining the hydraulic-energy, water transport and other parameters of hydroelectric systems and their pools.
The existing methods for calculating channel transformations are developed in relation to the conditions of steady flow, and their use for unsteady flow is impractical due to the neglect of some factors that are usually taken into account when calculating unsteady flow on APPLE.
