First “active” practice programme

Observation practice

1^st year

Aim: Develop the students’ skills of analyzing elements of artistic environment; to get to know the principles of organizing museum and exhibition expozitions
Credit value of the practice: 1 Cp.

Practice period: 2 semester.

Duration: 1 week

Practice content: attending museums and galleries, study tours;

Practice supervisor: art history tutor or art sciences specialist.

Preparations	Getting acquainted with the specific of visual art and principles of the art analysis.
Basic (work)	Observation of the visual environment. Getting to know the principles of organizing museum and exhibition expozitions.	Analysis of a city’s visual art
Conclusion	Preparation of the report. Consideration and assessment of the results. Preparation of the documentation. Public defence of the practice.	Report about the practice (shall be given to the practice supervisor a week before the defence)

1.6.2 Second “active” practice programme

Gallery practice

Aim: To master the gallery curator’s skills, organize art expozition, project work, conducting observations and interviews.

Credit value of the practice: 2 Cp.

Duration: 2 weeks

Practice period: 3., 4. semester.

Practice content:

• 
  Organization of the exposition of an exhibition;
  
• 
  Cooperation with the artists, selection of the pieces of art;
  
• 
  Maintainance and location of the exposition, prezentation of the exposition;
  
• 
  Preparation of the leaflets and information materials, work with audience and press.
  

Responsible for the practice: curator of the gallery BRIART.

1.6.3. Third “active” practice programme

Organization of mass events

Aim: To get knowledge in organization and implementing mass events, improve team work skills, and accomplish the tasks of a respective project correctly.

Credit value of the practice: 3 CP.

Duration: 3 weeks

Practice period: 5., 6. semester

Practice content:

• 
  To create a conceptual model of an implemented event;
  
• 
  Development of an application script;
  
• 
  Development of the event plan;
  
• 
  Accomplishment of an administrative work;
  
• 
  Preparation of the information materials;
  
• 
  Drawing up the documentation.
  

Responsible for the practice: BRI tutor- the practice supervisor, manager of a respective project.

Conclusion	Analysis of the event progress and the results. Preparation of the report. Public defence of the practice.	Report about the practice.

1. 6. 4. Fourth “active” practice programme
Project practice

Aim: to learn organization skills; participate in drafting and realizacion of a particular project; gathering the material for the bachelor paper and a qualification project.

Credit value of the practice: 5+7 Cp.

Duration: 5+7 weeks.

Practice period: 7., 8. semester.

Practice content:

• 
  To define the aims and tasks of the project; to assess the social, cultural, etc. value of the project;
  
• 
  To define the specific character of the project executors and target audience;
  
• 
  To accomplish the finansial analysis of the project;
  
• 
  To analyse and set possible finansation sourses of the project;
  
• 
  To set the evaluation criteria of a final result.
  

A supervisor of the qualification work is entitled to introduce supplements into a student’s practice individual task.
