Reading Part 5
THE TASK

In this part, candidates read a short text with six numbered spaces. 
HOW TO APPROACH THE TASK
u
First candidates should skim the text to find out the topic and 
general meaning.
u
Candidates should work through the six questions, reading the whole 
sentence to choose the correct word to complete the gap.
u
After choosing an answer, they need to check the other three options and 
decide why they are wrong. 
u
Once all the gaps are completed, they should read the whole text again to 
make sure it makes sense.
ASSESSMENT
u
The spaces are designed to test mainly vocabulary, but also an element of 
grammatical knowledge may be tested, e.g. complementation.

Scientists have built a 300kph racing car that uses chocolate as a fuel! The project is
