Read all the sentences carefully
In the Text Cohesion you need to think about sequencing words: Firstly, next, after that, 
finally.
You will also have to look at ‘referencing’ words. These could be pronouns: She, him, their, 
our, they, them. They could be synonyms: horse/the animal. Or determiners: This/that/these/those.

Here is an example of the type of question you will get in this part of the reading test.
Part 2: The sentences below are from a biography. Order the sentences (B-F) to make a story. The 
first sentence of the story (A) is an example.

William Bell was born in Argentina in 1953. 

He used his popularity to help many young people learn to ride and 
take care of horses. 

When he was a child, he lived on a farm and he loved animals..

After his success, he went on to win many international competitions 
and he became very famous. 

Eventually he retired and returned home to his farm in Argentina. 

He won his first riding competition when he was fifteen. 

He worked with horses on the farm after school and became a very 
good horse rider.

Exam Techniques
: How to answer the question
There are techniques that you can learn which will help you find the correct answer. These are:
Reading for gist
The word ‘gist’ means the general idea or the sense of the text.
Read the text quickly and underline any sequencing or referencing phrases.
The sequencing and referencing words/phrases are the words/phrases that connect the text 
and help the reader know the direction the text is going.
