Appendix B: Moderna covid-19 Vaccine

Storage 

Frozen 

Vaccine may be stored frozen until the expiration date at a recommended temperature of -50 to -15 

degrees Celsius (-58 to 5 degrees Fahrenheit) until ready to use. Protect vaccine from light by storing it 

in the original carton. Do not store on dry ice or below -50 degrees Celsius (-58 degrees Fahrenheit). 

Refrigerated 

Once vaccine is removed from the freezer, store multi-dose vials at refrigerator temperatures of 2 to 8 

degrees Celsius (36 to 46 degrees Fahrenheit) for up to 30 days prior to first use.

 Do not refreeze this 

vaccine once thawed!  

Unpunctured vials 

Store unpunctured vials between 8 degrees to 25 degrees Celsius (46 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit) for a 

total of 24 hours. 

Do not refreeze this vaccine once thawed! 

Redistribution  

If you redistribute vaccine, you must sign a redistribution agreement.
