145. A speech for the defense of fifteen defendants in court
On 30 September 2004 the Akmal' Ikram Criminal Court of Tashkent continued the trial based on Criminal Case 24/04-2155 of Tashkent City Criminal Court presided by Mr. M. Musaev with fifteen defendants, all of whom were religious people charged with complicity in the Tashkent explosions of late March 2004 and violations of 19 articles of the Criminal Code.
Mr. Surat Ikramov, a human rights defender, participated in the trial as the defense attorney of Ms. Nilufar Mirrakhimovna Khaydarova, one of the defendants. IGNPU hereby publishes the speech for the defense, which was read during the trial.
