VII. instructions, directions how to use things, rules, regulations, signs, etc.

LISTENING: YEAR II


Listening 1: Texts will be on the same topics as the main reading texts so that pupils discuss the same topic areas ( and recycle vocabulary) but develop the topic in both written and oral codes.

a short stories (5-7 sentences)


b jokes, anecdotes (5-10 sentences)
c exercises for recognising:
I. words and phrases
II. grammar structures in action
III. style: formal, informal, jargon, etc.
IV. different text types


Listening 2: Using longer semi-authentic and some authentic texts as a source to develop listening skills. (Tables as in Year 1 above).


LISTENING: YEAR III




Listening type 2 only: Using longer semi-authentic and some authentic texts as a source to develop listening skills. (Tables as in Year 1).
Students will listen to authentic and semi-authentic texts of 2-5 minutes duration on the same topics as the main reading texts. They will beencouraged to discuss the topic, share opinions on the topic and agree or disagree with the speaker’s/speakers’ views.
Listening 3: Students will listen to longer authentic and semi-authentic texts (up to 8 minutes), take notes, give a summary (oral or written) in the first language and then, in English, give their own opinions about the text.
II. SPEAKING
SPEAKING: YEAR I
On the basis of the main text or based on another short text (or texts) which
deals with the same topic, there will beexercises for developing writing skills.
