A community project of Love! Clinica Luz Del Mundo / Light of the World Clinic, Inc. (a 501c3 organization) was established in 1989 by Dr. Erwin M. Vasquez, MD and other community leaders. The clinic provides essential Healthcare and preventative medical services to the disadvantaged and minority population in Broward County The clinic has focused its services on children and their families who are generally without insurance or financial resources to obtain the proper healthcare. In any given year, the clinic serves anywhere from 8,000 to 12,000 disadvantaged indigent and medically underserved men, women and children in Broward County. This is accomplished by our volunteer doctors, specialists and medical professionals.	Who are our clientele? The clinic serves the disadvantaged at-risk indigent immigrant population; namely, the burgeoning Hispanic community who speak little or no English, the Creole speaking community who receive little or no healthcare due to cultural barriers, and other minorities who lack medical treatment in their native language for fear and socio- economic status. How we carry out the mission? The clinic reaches out to residential areas where there are minority at-risk residents and provides them monthly, quarterly and annual community-based health screenings and quality health care services in a sensitive and cultural manner without regard to ethnic origin or ability to pay. What are we accomplishing? By providing free medical services to the underserved and at-risk indigent community, the clinic provides early medical intervention to minorities by treating them and stabilizing their hypertension, diabetes, coronary disease, obesity and other widespread diseases.	Operating five days a week, the clinic provides a full range of medical services: Cardiology Dermatology Diabetic Counseling General Medicine Gynecology Internal Medicine Registered Dietician Pediatric ARNPs Urology Mammography Ultrasound / CT Laboratory Services Back to School Exams & Immunizations Healthy Hearts/ Healthy Lifestyles Program Lupus Support Group Acupuncture (pending) Bone Density / X-ray Social Service Outreach and Spiritual Support** **Through locally faith-based Programs In English, Spanish.
