4. Conclusion
Water is the main determinant of life. For this reason, it is necessary to determine the reasons that
threaten water resources and to make efforts in this direction. Preventing the reduction of water as a
resource and increasing the efficiency of water has become increasing the policies that determine the
future of societies. Protection of water resources depends on the establishment of a strong sustainable
water management. The sustainable water management system covers a wide area from the use,
protection and post-use of water resources, from the pollution to the re-cleaning of water, and the water
management system recommended to developing countries where water scarcity is most common, is in a
position to create more problems than solving the problems.
In this study, the issue of sustainable water management within the scope of climate change is
discussed. Within the scope of the investigations, the Konya closed basin example was taken into
consideration. Ensuring the sustainability of the agricultural sector in water management will greatly
reduce the possibility of depletion and pollution of water in water resources, as well as climate change,
and the possibility of progressing towards completion in the life cycle.
The agricultural sector is one of the vital sectors as it meets the food needs of people. Due to its
aforementioned importance, policies aimed at solving the problems of the sector are constantly being
developed by the relevant Ministries. In this context, the most used method is Water Allocation Planning.
Considering the Konya closed basin example, issues such as increasing irrigation efficiency, preventing
transmission losses, minimizing losses arising from irrigation methods, improving irrigation systems,
expanding the use of modern agricultural technologies and training farmers are important in terms of
sustainable water management.
