Lifelong Learning philosophy and content


What is the content of Lifelong Learning? Conventionally, four main directions of training can be distinguished: teaching knowledge, teaching skills, teaching interaction with other people (conflict resolution, developing communication skills, socialization, tolerance to other cultures, and so on) and self-development, which affects all possible areas of self-improvement - physical culture, intellectual development, the development of emotional competence and aesthetic sensitivity, finally, spirituality.
Thus, Lifelong Learning is all-round personal development, on the one hand, and a way to promote the development of the whole society, on the other.

Features of Lifelong Learning


Although traditional, formal education is a very significant part of the concept, such types of learning as independent and non-formal education are of particular importance to it.In fact, a person's entire life is informal learning. Finding himself in a variety of situations, meeting a variety of people on his way and establishing certain relationships with them, joining his native culture and studying strangers, solving the variety of problems facing him, a person learns. He acquires new values, attitudes, views, gets acquainted with different points of view, discovers new problems for himself, acquires new knowledge and masters new skills. All of this to a great extent is the essence of lifelong learning.Lifelong Learning is unimaginable without the personal motivation of each learner. The concept assumes that learning is voluntary, and no one, except the person himself, is responsible for it. Therefore, the personal traits of each - perhaps only potential - student are very important, and most importantly, his desire to learn. Interestingly, material reasons are not enough to make people learn. It is necessary for them to be pleasant and interesting in the learning process itself, and not only in its possible results.The reasons why people learn are very diverse, and there are not so many of those related to a profession or a desire to improve their well-being. People learn to deepen their professionalism or start their own business - but at the same time, they just as often need training in order to broaden their horizons and deepen their knowledge, to meet new people, to enter certain communities, or just to become more confident. in yourself and develop in your character the desired traits and qualities.And since this is the case, and due to the fact that everyone is responsible for continuous learning, it occurs in the overwhelming majority of cases at the expense of the students themselves, with minimal government support.And another distinguishing feature of Lifelong Learning, as mentioned above, is that it is open to everyone, regardless of the age of the learners.

Lifelong Learning, обучение на протяжении всей жизни – это непрекращающееся получение и развитие знаний и умений, которое длится всю жизнь человека. Такое обучение может достигаться как формальными методами получение образования, тренинги, наставничество, учебные курсы,повышение квалификации так и неформальными, то есть путем извлечения нового опыта из самой жизни.
Lifelong Learning – это концепция непрестанного, добровольного поиска новых знаний, который вдохновляется как профессиональными, так и личными причинами. Подобный образ жизни способствует профессиональному росту и конкурентоспособности человека на рынке труда, и при этом является важнейшей частью личностного роста. При этом в масштабах страны массовое принятие этой концепции благотворно сказывается на формировании человеческого и интеллектуального капитала и его качестве, а тем самым помогает развитию экономики.Концепция непрерывного обучения предполагает, что оно должно охватывать людей независимо от их возраста и сферы деятельности, и при этом предоставлять им возможности для реализации и развития абсолютно любых учебных интересов и предпочтений.
