To‘lqin uzunligi 10-8¸10-4m kenglikda bo‘lgan elektromagnit to‘lqinlar, uchta gruppadagi optik to‘lqinlardan iboratdir: infraqizil, ko‘zga ko‘rinadigan (7,6·10-7 ÷ 4·10-4m) va ultrabinafsha nurlardir.
Nihoyatda qisqa to‘lqinli nurlar modda ichiga kirish xususiyatiga ega bo‘lgan rentgen va gamma - nurlardan iborat.
