3 Feb 1908, Pearl left this earth 3 Jan 2010 in Catoosa Ok, one month short of her 102^nd birthday. Pearl was loved and is missed by all who knew her. Rest in Peace Aunt Pearl


The date (June 5-6) of this year’s JACKSON FAMILY REUNION is fast approaching. The theme is Oklahoma Luau. It will once again be held at Brushy School in Sallisaw Ok. If you have not been able to attend in prior years, we hope this is the year you will join us and cousins who attended previous years we are looking forward to seeing you again.
Lunch will be potluck and served at 12 noon on Saturday. Anyone know how to prepare a Hawaiian dish?? The reunion will furnish meat, drinks, plates, cups, eating utensils, and napkins.

If you are going to be in town Friday night (June 4^th) we will be having an informal get together at the Western Sizzler in Sallisaw beginning at 6pm. This is a good time to visit and learn about the next day’s activities. The buffet will be available

Want to order a 2010 Reunion T-shirt or Hat? We have extended the order cutoff date to April 10. The caps are black with a solid back or blue with a mesh back. Both have Jackson Reunion(no year) embroidered on front. The t-shirts are embroidered on the front with the reunion theme for the year, Jackson Family Reunion and year. The price is $10 for the hat. T-shirts are $10 up to size 1X and $12 for larger sizes. If you want them mailed to you the price is plus postage. Even if you don’t attend the reunion, you may still order a shirt or hat.
We are still trying to gather enough recipes for a Jackson Family Cookbook. There will be samples of different style cookbooks at the reunion. If you contribute a recipe to the family cookbook, your name will be entered into a drawing. Please contribute a recipe or two, a household hint, canning recipe, or household tip. If you can’t make the reunion but want to contribute a recipe, etc please send it to Jackson Family Recipes

We are also in the process of doing a Jackson Family Reunion Calendar with the cousins’ birthdays, anniversaries, deaths on it. Don’t have to include the year if you don’t want. We are frequently asked why we do the reunion every year… wouldn’t it be easier to do it every other year or even every five years? We do it every year to give everyone an opportunity to attend. Some cousins can attend every year and others not as often. When the reunion is held every year the first weekend of June, cousins can better plan when they are able to attend, whether it be every year, every other year, or only once every five years. With our busy lives everyone has different schedules (and also finances) so we want to accomodate everyone and give them time to make arrangements to come. We have lost cousins that we would not have had the privilege to meet if we had not done the reunion yearly.

 Our cousin Vikki Sallee Dillard is married to Doug Dillard a famous banjo player. He used to make appearances on the Andy Griffith Show playing his banjo. Vikki wanted me to let you all know that Doug and his band is being inducted into the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame Oct 1, 2009

This is quite an honor and Vikki is very proud of Doug for receiving this award.
