STANDARDIZATION OF LIQUID EXTRACT "HEMOSTAV"

Abstract: Increasing the assortment of the pharmaceutical market with phytopreparations of 
hemostatic action are topical. We obtained a phytoextract on the basis of nettle leaves, dioecious, 
aerial parts of mountain peppery, avian and from flowers of calendula officinalis, the biological 
activity of which causes anti-inflammatory and hemostatic effect. 70% alcohol is used as the 
extractant. 
Aim of investigation: standardization and introduction of a new anti-inflammatory and hemostatic 
liquid extract "Gemostav". 
Materilas and method of investigation: a new liquid extract was obtained from 70% alcohol from 
the dried and chopped herb pepper (Polygonumhydropiper), the mountaineer of the bird 
(Polygonumaviculare), the leaves of the dioecious nettle (UrticaDioica L), the flowers of the 
calendula officinalis (Calendula officinalis L.). Its numerical indicators are determined at the 
request of GF XI. 
Results: The liquid is green-brown in color and bitter-astringent taste. Authenticity was determined 
by chemical reactions to flavonoids and also by TLC. 0.02 ml of the drug is applied to a plate of 
"Silufol" (15x15 cm). The plate with the applied sample is air-dried, placed in a chamber with a 
butanol-acetic acid-water solvent mixture (4: 1: 1) and chromatographed in an ascending manner. 
When developing with ammonia vapors or spraying a solution of vanillin in concentrated sulfuric 
acid, two spots should appear (Rf about 0.48, and 0.68). These spots were identified as quercetin 
and rutin. 
Heavy metals (not more than 0.001% in the preparation, GF XI, issue 1, page 165) The dry residue 
content should be not less than 0.13% (GF XI, issue 1, page 161, Density 0.9067 g / cm3 .GF XI, 
issue 2, page 148) The amount of alcohol was determined by refractometry in which it amounted to 
68.44%. 
The number of flavonoids was determined by spectrophotometry. 
To do this, 5 ml of the drug is placed in a 25 ml volumetric flask and diluted to a mark with 70% 
alcohol (solution A). Then 1 ml of Solution A is placed in a 25 ml volumetric flask. Add 5 ml of 
96% ethyl alcohol, 5 ml of a 5% solution of aluminum chloride in 70% ethyl alcohol, add 2 ml of a 
5% acetic acid solution after 10 minutes, bring the volume of the solution to 70% with ethyl alcohol 
to the mark and mix. After 30 minutes, the optical density of the resulting solution was measured on 
a spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 408 nm in a cuvette with a layer thickness of 10 mm. A 
solution is used as the reference solution, which consists of 1 ml of Solution A, 2 ml of a 5%

solution of acetic acid in 70% ethanol, which were obtained in a 25 ml volumetric flask and brought 
to the mark with the same alcohol. 
The maintenance routine in a liquid extract has made 0,62%, respectively.
