Beowulf is an epic adventure story of heroic young prince who saves country from Grendel and his mother . The story takes place in early to mid 6^th century . Author is unknown so it is simply called as ,, the Beowulf poet” . It consists of 2 parts. Its introduction opens with the history of great Danish king Hrothgar. He has suffered from the attack of the monster Grendel for 12 years. Beowulf comes to the rescue in repayment of saving his father many ye

ars ago and promises to defeat the monster . With his army he fights with it , and in a battle Beowulf tears its arm out of Grendels body . Then Grendel retreats its swamp and dies there. Seeking avenge to her son’s death, mother of Grendel kills one of the Hrothgar’s best men and takes Grendel ‘s arm . But Beowulf follows her and fights . He grabs the magic sword of the wall and slays of her head . He finds the body of Grendel and takes his head as a trophy . Afterwards the blade of the sword melts away . Beowulf brings Grendel head and the sword to Hrothgar . The king showers him with the gifts and proclaims him as a hero . After the death of Hrothgar, Beowulf receives crown and reigns for 50 years maintaining peace until one of the slaves run away stealing the dragons golden goblet. Outraged dragon destroys lands . Beowulf with his 11 men tries to battle with the beast but out of 11 only 3 left . They fight with the dragon and kill it . But Beowulf is fatally injured. He proudly dies as a hero. People hold great funeral for the hero Beowulf and burn treasure with his body.
