Dear Friends of Stanwood Youth Football,

My name is Michael Riojas and I am the Treasurer of the Stanwood Youth Football board. As you may know, a new youth football league has been formed in the Stanwood-Camano area. We created this new league as an option for local families, so they may choose to play in Washington’s Premier Youth Football League, the North Cascade Youth Football League.

The mission of Stanwood Youth Football shall be educational in nature, to instill in the youth of the community the ideals of physical conditioning, good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and respect for authority, so that they may become better adjusted, stronger, and happier children, and will grow to be decent healthy and trustworthy adults. To achieve this mission, SYF will provide a supervised program of conditioning, training and competitive football games. All members shall be guided by the principle that exceptional athletic skill and winning of games is only the secondary objective, and that their leadership and teamwork should at all times reflect the above stated mission. However, none of this can be done without generosity and community support!

My goal is to raise $20,000 to make this endeavor a reality. This money will be used to scholarship youth and families in the area that wish to play youth football, but cannot afford to do so. It is our belief that any child, regardless of sex, race, religion, or social / economic status should be able to play youth football in our league. Additionally, an organizational goal we have is to work toward eventually equipping each youth football player in Xenith football helmets. We believe that Xenith football helmets are the safest youth helmets on the market, built by a company whose only reason to produce football helmets was to reduce concussions.
