Dear Susan, I really appreciate your hard work in improving your speaking. I heard that you always try to be active in speaking clubs and never miss the sessions. However, if you want to become fluent at speaking you have to be more willing to work on your mistakes. Making few mistakes at times is of course normal but doing the same mistake twice or more is the real problem. You need to learn how to evaluate your weaknesses and eliminate them. My suggestion for you is to record your voice whenever you speak English. Then listen over to your recorded voice and try to find your mistakes in grammar, word formation, tenses and pronunciation and if it is possible write them on a piece of paper to remind yourself about your problems. The next practice is called «1 minute speech». Everyday select any random item or topic and put your timer to at least one full minute. During this time you have to speak nonstop around selected item or topic without any unnatural pauses. By doing this you will learn how to organize your thoughts more thoroughly and start speaking more fluently.

We are humans and it is okay to make mistakes, this is what makes us different from robots. Your failure on the last exam should make you work harder towards your goals. It is meaningless to stay still and remain stuck at one level. I hope my suggestions will help you perform better at speaking and overcome your problems.
