Specific literary vocabulary includes:

1. 
   Learned words
   

First of all poetic words belong to a definite style of language and perform in it their direct function. If encountered in another style of speech, they assume a new function, mainly satirical, for the two notions, poetry and prose, have been opposed to each other from time immemorial.
Poetic language has special means of communication, i.e. rhythmical arrangement, some syntactical peculiarities and certain number of special words. The specific poetic vocabulary has a marked tendency to detach itself from the common literary word stock and assume a special significance. Poetic words claim to be, as it were, of higher rank.
2. Poetic words and set expressions make the utterance understandable only to a limited number of readers. It is mainly due to poeticisms that poetical language is sometimes called poetical jargon.
a) literary words
E.g. solitude sentiment cordial
loneliness feeling hearty
b) poetic diction
E.g. behold fair hapless thee
see beautiful unhappy you
c) officialese
E.g. accommodation donation obtain
room gift get
Example: ”You are authorised to acquire the work in question by purchase through the ordinary trade channels”- instead of -”We advise you to buy the book in a shop”.
d) ”refined” literary words (used by authors for stylistic purposes)-euphemisms, taboos, sometimes- to obtain a comic effect.
E.g. Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion:
Q.:Will it rain, do you think?
A.:The shallow depression in the west of these islands is likely to move slowly in an easterly direction. There are no indications of any great change in the barometrical situation.”
Other examples: to evade the issue / to drop the point (topic).
