Maxsus maktab teatrlari - o`quvchilarda kasbiy mahoratning shakllanishiga, ulardagi ichki 
qobiliyatlarni va mahoratlarini boyicha ajoyib yuzaga chiqishiga ko`maklashadi. Shu bilan birga 
o`quvchilarda sana’t yo`nalishi mutaxassislar tayyorlash imkonini beradi. 
Xulosa qilib aytish mumkinki, o`quvchilar kompententsiyalarini shakllantirishda zamonaviy 
pedagogik va axborot kommunikatsiya texnologiyalarining ahamiyati katta, albatta ulardan unumli 
foydalanish, kerak bo`lsa, bu borada yana ko`plab izlanishlar va yangiliklar qilish kerak. Yuqorida 
ta’kidlaganimizdek, ko`rsatib o`tilgan omillar ham bunga o`z hissasini qo`shadi deb o`ylaymiz. 
THE ROLE OF INTERNET IN TEACHING ENGLISH

After independence the system of education in the Republic of Uzbekistan was totally 
reformed, i.e. it underwent radical changes due to the initiatives of President Islam Karimov. For this 
purpose “Law on Education” and “National Programme for Cadres Training” were worked out and 
put into practice. As a logical continuation of this process “National Programme for the Development 
of School Education for Years 2004-2009” was adopted and implemented. The programme envisaged 
the consolidation of the material and technical base of nearly 10,000 secondary schools in our country, 
radical transformation of the essence of the process of education as well as financial and moral support 
of teachers. Erection of a number of academic lyceums, vocational colleges and higher education 
establishments with modern facilities is the vivid manifestation of this tremendous work. Today we 
can all witness the result of this reform – a new generation with high intellectual and spiritual potential 
has appeared. Their achievements are quite remarkable. Our Uzbek youth have proved once more 
that they are not inferior to anyone in the world.  
Having a good command of a foreign language is one of the requirements of being a successful 
professional nowadays. The leading role of English as the language of international communication 
has been given top priority. Teaching English in the Republic of Uzbekistan was raised to the 
qualitatively new level with information communicative and innovative pedagogical technologies 
being introduced to the system of education. Besides, the establishment of information resource 
centres and libraries on the basis of universal scientific libraries has opened new perspectives in the 
sphere of information services. It, in its turn, led to the increase of students` knowledge and 
independent thinking. What is more, students` interest to learning foreign languages as well as 
modern information communicative technologies, especially vast opportunities of the Internet, rose 
considerably.
It goes without saying that the Internet can be used as an efficient tool to develop grammar, 
lexical skills and to check progress. It includes all kinds of lexical, grammar and phonetic training 
tests, tests on reading and grammar, IQ tests, etc. The greatest benefit of usage of Internet resources 
is the development of intercultural competences, i.e. cultural exchange, ways of interaction, formation 
of cultural universals necessary for mutual understanding and fruitful cooperation. The current 
qualification paper deals with an effective application of the Internet in teaching English.
