Aim of the inquiry:
identifying the role of Sogdian confederation in 
political history of Central Asia, and also conducting textual research on mountain 
«Mug», one of the important historical sources of early midlle Sogd.
Methods of inquiry:
historical-source studies, historical-comparative, 
textual research.
The results achieved and their novelty: 
the general meaning and 
understanding of sogdian documents was explained and researched from historical 
source studies stand point, the development period and development steps of 
Sogdian confederation, its similarities and differences in terms of administrative 
management, economic and political relations with countries in Central Asia were 
researched.
Practical value:
conclusions derived from research helps in enriching one’s 
knowledge about sogdian confederation, one of the well-known states once in 
Central Asia. The dissertation will also be useful in writing the related chapters of 
«History of Uzbekistan» book, in preparing methodological handouts for students 
of higher and mid-specialized education.

there are 7 articles that have 
been published based on topic of the dissertation. 
Sphere of usage:
the dissertation carries essential role in creating 
educational and methodological handouts describing the political situation of 
Central Asian countries and especially the role of Sogdian confederation among
