INTRODUCTION (abstract of PhD thesis) 
 
The aim of the research.
It consists of the study of ethnic processes in 
Mawarannahr in the XIII-XV centuries on the basis of Persian written sources. 
The object of research.
The ethnic history of Mawarannahr in the XIII-XV 
centuries is the object of study. 
The scientific novelty of the research is as follows: 
In the XIII-XV centuries, the influence of the Turkic ethnic groups increased, 
as evidenced by written sources, the areas in which the ethnoses lived, such as 
Qarluq, Yagmo, Chigil, Kipchak, Khalaj, Uguz, Karakhitay 
and 
Kujat
, their 
weight, their leaders, and other information about their ethnic history were 
identified; 
As a result of the struggle of Genghis Princes and rulers, the local population 
captured from Khorezm, Samarkand, Bukhara, Kesh and Termiz, their weight 
(more than fifty thousand) was found in Ghazni, Shiberghan, Farob and Balkh 
regions; 
According to most studies, the ethnic groups that settled in Central Asia were 
not Mongol tribes attached to Chigatay, proving on the basis of sources that they 
were thousands of 
Barlas, Jalayir, Sulduz, Arlot
tribes and an army of eight 
thousand 
Naymans
, during which time there was no 
Qavchin
ethnonym;
During the reign of Amir Temur and the Temurids, the existing ethnic data 
on the ethnic history of the population of Mawarannahr were supplemented on the 
basis of about ten Persian sources and more than thirty ethnonyms were identified.
