Gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3% in the first three months of 2021. 
Production growth was observed in all sectors of the economy. (For comparison: in early 
April, Bloomberg Economics experts had expected the global economy to grow by only 
1.3% in the first quarter).

Uzbekistan's GDP in 2020 will grow by 1.7% compared to the previous year. This 
figure is lower than the 5.7 percent announced in 2019, but in 2020 the GDP figure was 59 
billion 928 million dollars. Uzbekistan ranked 80th in terms of GDP among 196 countries 
published by the World Bank. The absolute value of GDP in Uzbekistan decreased by $ 21 
million compared to 2019. Also, the GDP per capita in Uzbekistan in 2020 amounted to $ 
1,767, which is $ 34 less than in 2019 ($ 1,801). As can be seen in the trend, it confirms the 
correctness of the above opinions and comments. Because the pandemic did not damage the 
economy of Uzbekistan compared to other CIS countries. Although, as we can see in the 
third quarter of 2020, GDP growth showed the lowest result at 0.8 percent, in 2021 the 
growth recorded high results with around 6.5 percent.
