Introduction
Today‘s life is unimaginable without mass media. It is a tremendous source of information for individuals and society. Newspaper as a form of mass media is known for several ages. However, the investigation of newspaper language has started only in the mid-20th century. We intend to show the coverage of genocidal issues in newspapers and particularly, in the ''Daily Star'' newspaper.
The subject matter of the present graduation paper is the Linguostylistic Peculiarities of Newspaper Language with special reference to genocidal issues in the “Daily Star” newspaper.
The choice of the topic is motivated by the importance of analyzing media language especially in the context of genocidal articles.
The topicality of present graduation paper is to examine newspaper language, its manifestations in the sentences and also to understand what kinds of methods are used in the texts in order to acquaint the reader with historical events.
The aim of the present graduation paper is to examine newspaper language, its peculiarities and characteristics. The paper examines stylistic devices used in genocidal articles which have an aim to create special effects and influence on the readers opinion. The present paper focuses on the main grammatical as well as lexical language features that create the style of articles found in the broadsheet newspaper.
In order to achieve the aim, the following objectives have been put forward:
To overview the theoretical data of functional styles.
To overview newspaper style.
To analyze speech functions in newspaper style
To indicate the frequency of certain stylistic features used in the genocidal articles
To discuss vocabulary and terms used in the genocidal articles particularly in “Daily Star” newspaper
The graduation paper consists of the following parts: Introduction, Chapter One with two subchapters, Chapter Two with two subchapters, Conclusion and Bibliography.
