Holidays

Every year has many happy months. Happy months are the months when we have our holidays. July is a happy month for Kate. Kate was born in July. Her birthday is on the fourth of July. On that day she has a party. It is a holiday for her and for her family. Mother bakes her a big cake. Kate has guests on her birthday. Children come and wish her “many happy returns of the day”. Then give her a lot of different presents.

Days of the weeks

There are seven days in week. There are 4 weeks in a month. There are fifty-two weeks in a year. Do you know the names of the seven days of the week? They are: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Children have a holiday from school every Sunday. They don’t go to school on Sunday. They go to school on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Seasons

A year is divided into seasons and months. There are four seasons and twelve months in a year. The seasons are spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Spring is green Summer is bright Autumn is yellow Winter is white Winter brings us snowflakes Spring – green buds and shoots Summer brings us berries Autumn golden fruits.

Spring

Each season has 3 months. March, April and May are spring months. Snow melts in spring, days become long and nights are shot. In spring flowers begin to grow. Birds come back from warm lands and built their nests, little lambs play in the fields. Springtime is a very happy time. Trees are green. The sky is blue. Everything is gay. It is warm out of doors in spring.

Summer

Then summer comes. June, July and august are summer months. It is very hot in summer. The sun bright and flowers bloom everywhere. In summer children don’t go to school. They have their vacations and go to the country or mountains. They lie in the sun, bathe, and walk in the fields.

Autumn

Autumn comes next. In autumn there is plenty of fruit. The leaves turn red, yellow, orange and brown. Nature is beautiful in autumn. September, October, November are autumn months. The days become short and nights become long. It often rains. The sun is not warm. The weather becomes cold in the morning. In autumn children go to school.
