economic growth has translated into higher incomes and better living standards. Data from
such surveys would also provide insights into whether the government’s programs—physical
infrastructure and social programs alike—are reaching the intended beneficiaries. Household
survey combined with labor force data would be especially important to understand the translation
of growth into more jobs and higher wages.
