Armadillo

Armadillos are small mamals. They have a though armor thet protects them from enemies and other dangers. The word armadillo is Spanish for “little armored one”. Armadillos are stout with short legs and strong, curved caws.

Armadillos

They usually active at night and live in burrows(holes in the ground) and can dig very quickly. Armadillos feed mainly on termites and other insects, worms, roots, and small animals.

Vampire bats

Like the legendary monster thet they are named after, these small mamals drink the blood of other animals for survival. (sometimes also humans). They feed on pigs, cows, horses and birds. They can locate prey by sensing the sound of an animal breathing.

Vampire bats

Unlike other species of bats, vampire bats can walk, run and jump. Heat sensors on their noses help them find animals. If they can not find blood for two nights in a row, they will die. But If a baby bat is born, other bats feed the mom for about 2 weeks after the birth.

Jaguars

Jaguars are the largest of South America’s big cats and the third largest cats in the world. A jaguar’s spots are called rosettes, because they are shaped like roses. Unlike many other cats, jaguars don’t avoid water: in fact, they are quite good swimmers.

Rivers provide jaguars with prey in the form of fish, turtles, or caimans. Jaguars also eat larger animals such as deer, peccaries, capybaras and tapris. They sometimes climb trees to prepare an ambush.

When you think of an alligator, it is easy for a dinosaur to come to mind. Alligators have been living on earth for millions of years, and are sometimes called ”living fossils” because they have not changed very much since the times of the dinosaurs.

They live in freshwater environments like swamps, ponds, rivers and lakes. Alligators are a top predator in their environment and can eat almost anything they choose. They can survive two to three years without eating. If their prayer is larger, they usually grab it into the water.
