WHAT KIND OF HOUSE IS IT.
English people like to live in small houses for one family with a small garden. English homes have all modern conveniences: central heating, gas, electricity, cold and hot water, a lift and a chute to carry rubbish down.
There are three or more rooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a bathroom, a living room, bedroom, and a hall in the flat. The English are stay-at-home people. When they don’t work they like to spend their days off at home with their families. The open fire is something that the English are very much fond of it.
Uzbek homes are clean, spacious and modestly furnished. Shoes are not worn inside and should be taken off upon entrance. While sharing meals, individuals sit on patterned korpachas (mats) and sometimes lean against pillows. Korpachas are also used to sleep on though beds are also common in the cities.
The courtyards generally have walkways that are kept very tidy, various fruit trees, animal pens, and a platform-like piece of furniture designed for sharing meals and sleeping during the summer months. Uzbek homes and apartments always have a guest room where fine tea sets, rugs, and ceramics are displayed and guests sit to enjoy feasting and good company.
Historically Central Asians have been wary of strangers. However, hospitality is a high priority in every Uzbek home. Guests are revered and given the best the family has to offer. Unexpected visitors are always welcome. Most Uzbeks have bread, fruits, and nuts on hand all the time to serve a guest dropping by to see them. Uzbeks always have time for friends and family.
