Alisher Navoi was born on February 9, 1441 in Herat during the reign of Shahrukh Mirzo, the son of Amir Temur . His contemporaries often write about him as "Nizamiddin Mir Alisher". His father, Giyosiddin Muhammad (also known as Giyosiddin Kichkina), was an official of the Timurid court and a trustee of the family. His mother, Prince Sheikh Abusaid. She was the daughter of Chang, whose name is unknown. Alisher's grandfather was a cousin of Timur's son Umarshaikh.
In his works, the great poet says that he is proud of his closeness to this place. It is also found in the works of some of the plates on his biography. Some information about this saint is given by his contemporaries in their books.
Alisher grew up under special upbringing and supervision because he lived in a palace environment. From an early age he fell in love with poetry and music. He was in the circle of scholars. At the age of three or four, he memorized a poem by Qasim Anwar, a famous poet of his time, and amazed the guests. A year later he was sent to school. He studied with the future sultan Hussein Baykaro. Word of his intelligence and ability spread among the people.
