Orally tell your students one or two sentences about the activities you did 
yesterday or last week using past simple and ask them to tell the class their own 
examples (optional: you can bring some relevant photos of yours too.)
then try to elicit their knowledge about the tense being used in the examples.
Establish that the simple past is used to talk about activities or situations that 
happened in the past and we know when it happened. Write the structure and 
adverbs of time of Past Simple on the board. Give information about regular and 
irregular verbs.
