Activity 1a Listen and repeat.
Objectives: to warm up;
 
  to introduce a poem
First read the following poem for the pupils to listen and then 
have them repeat it after you in chorus and individually.
Apples, apples,
One, two, three,
Apples for you,
Apples for me.
Activity 1b Choose and say.
Objective: to have the pupils practise composing a poem
Ask the pupils to compose their poems as in Activity 1a with 
other fruits or vegetables.
For example:
Strawberries, strawberries
One, two, three,
Strawberries for you,
Strawberries for me.

Activity 2 Play “Count”.
Objective: to recycle the numbers 1–20
First, have the pupils count the numbers 1–20 in chorus, then 
one by one in turns (You can also use the optional activity on 
DVD where there is a telephone, which pronounces the numbers 
11-20.). Then say that instead of 5, 10, 15 and 20 they need to 
clap but not pronounce. Ask all the pupils to stand up and begin 
counting in turns. The one who makes a mistake sits down. The 
others start counting from 1 again. The last pupil to remain will 
be the winner.
