Community Management
Typically, communities consist of like-minded individuals who have joint interests such as a
shared outlook on goods, services, or organizations. To effectively manage these communities,
community managers use tools that require a high level of trust. As the rise of digital-first
communities advances, so do attack vectors. Limiting bad actors within communities currently
requires an intense amount of human and manual effort in the form of community moderators.

NFTY proposes a solution known as "collateralized community access," in which a user must
verify & prove that they belong to a specific community in order to participate. This process
happens by leveraging the public signatures of blockchain networks to show that a user’s
wallet — or digital identity — contains the requisite "digital access pass," (in the form of an
NFT) as specified by the community’s parameters. Community managers create token gates
that restrict access to the owners of particular assets. and mint these assets to create new
communities built exclusively upon the ownership of such digital assets. Communities can
specifically target and incentivize members based upon their activities on-chain. At the same
time, community managers can provide ownership of the community to the members
themselves via their access tokens.

A Brief NFTY Example:
Problem: A local sports team wants to provide its season ticket holders with added benefits for
their support. This includes mobile stadium access, private discord channel for more personal
connection to athletes, in-store exclusive merchandise (via Shopify), and discounts on goods.
However, these benefits are siloed across different platforms and systems. Furthermore, the team
wants to ensure that these benefits are exclusive to season ticket holders, and not accessible for
anyone else.
Solution: Using NFTYLink, the team sells season tickets as NFTs and grants access to select
features for token holders as desired. Users that hold the season ticket NFTs are granted access to
different platforms with exclusive features and are able to do so with single sign-on functionality.
After minting the season ticket NFT, the team creates token gates (more on this functionality later)
which enable holders to access product discounts, exclusive merchandise, a private discord
channel, etc.
