Overall conclusion

The overall conclusion demonstrates that, grammar is an inseparable part of language teaching and learning since it is about the whole system and structures of all languages in general and English in specific. In this review paper, the best methods of teaching and learning grammar have been provided based on a comparison study between Muhamad’s research paper and Mart’s article to show the similarities and differences between them, besides what else needs to be taken into consideration which is provided by the reviewer for each section thoroughly. Above all, the similarity between these two papers is in their contents that they both support the idea of revolutionary teaching and learning grammar and that is the direct opposite of old-fashioned and deductive ways of teaching grammar such as, grammar translation method. However, these two papers did not follow the same steps, or all steps that are required in writing a paper. To begin with their abstracts, since it is the map of the study, there should be a summary of almost all the aspects of the entire paper. First, the topics and its importance have been identified based on a comprehensive literature review. Then, in paper (A) the hypothesis, the methodology and the tools of data collection have been clarified since it is a mixed method, also two of her findings are provided. But for (B), since it is a pure qualitative and exploratory method of research, there is a null hypothesis and the methodology, which includes model, sample, type of data collection, method of data collection, analysis and reliability of the study, zero of them are being mentioned. Also, conclusion and findings have not been provided which should have been in this section. Concerning the introductions, the importance of the study both in general and in specific have been mentioned. As for (A) the problem, the aim, the research questions, the hypotheses, the procedures of data collection, the limitation and the value of the study all have been mentioned. As for (B), there is a theoretical background for further introducing the study with providing ample examples for answering the questions of why and how to teach grammar in context, and they are important to be considered since it is a qualitative method. But the problem and the aim have not been mentioned which can be considered as a negative point of the paper. As for the methodology part, the first study is a mixed method, all the procedures of qualitative and quantitative data collection have been followed, the pilot study have also been accomplished. The reliability and the validity of the data were measured and SPSS program has been utilized to analyze the data which is another good point of the study. In compare to the other study (B), since it is exploratory and pure qualitative, the researcher merely got benefit from the secondary sources for supplying sufficient data with providing examples to the research questions. In conclusion, the two papers are clearly answered all the questions, and they both share the agreement about the importance of teaching grammar inductively and use it actively in dialogues or sentences (context). For this reason, the first study is provided a list of reference of 42 sources with three appendixes and further recommendations for the study, whereas the second study provided a list of references with 31 sources to tackle their problems and reach a conclusion. Also, the references are related to the topic. Most importantly, they both are academic since the language is formal which is clear, concise and precise without any vague expressions. The style and the format of writing is scientific and academic which is APA and the works have been written for academic purposes and audience. Also, the works are written by professionals in a given field which took years to write, edit and submit or publish. Therefore, it can be stated that, almost all the gaps that are needed have been filled.
