USING THE MEANS OF NEW INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES
IN EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

The modern period of development of a civilized society characterizes the
process of informatization. Informatization of society is a global social process, the
peculiarity of which is that the dominant type of activity in the field of social
production is the collection, accumulation, production, processing, storage,
transmission and use of information, carried out on the basis of modern means
microprocessor and computer technology, as well as on the basis of various means
of information exchange.
Informatization of society provides: a) active use of the constantly
expanding intellectual potential of society, concentrated in the printed fund, in the
scientific, industrial and other activities of its members; b) integration of
information technology with scientific, industrial, initiating the development of all
spheres of social production, intellectualization of labor activity; c) a high level of
information services, the ability of any member of society to access sources of
reliable information, visualization of the information provided, the materiality of
the data used [1].
One of the priority directions of the process of informatization of modern
society is the informatization of education - the process of providing the education
sector with methodology and practice for the development and optimal use of
modern or, as they are commonly called, new information technologies (NIT),
focused on implementation psychological and pedagogical goals of training,
education.
This process initiates:
• improving the management mechanisms of the education system based on
the use of automated data banks of scientific and pedagogical information,
information and methodological materials, as well as communication networks;
• improvement of the methodology and strategy for the selection of content,
methods and organizational forms of training, education, corresponding to the

tasks of the student's personality development in modern conditions of
informatization of society;
• creation of methodological training systems focused on the development of
the intellectual potential of the student, on the formation of skills to independently
acquire knowledge, to carry out information and educational, experimental and
research activities, various types of independent information processing;
• creation and use of computer testing, diagnosing methods of control and
assessment of the level of knowledge of trainees [2].
Under the means of new information technologies (MNIT) we mean
software and hardware and devices operating on the basis of microprocessor,
computer technology, as well as modern means and systems of information
exchange, providing operations for the collection, production, accumulation,
storage, processing, transmission of information.
The use of educational software is focused on: 1) to solve a certain
educational problem requiring its study and (or) resolution - problem-oriented PS;
2) to carry out some activity with the object environment (for example, with a text
preparation system, an information retrieval system, a database) - object-oriented
software systems; 3) for the implementation of activities in a certain subject
environment (ideally - with built-in elements of learning technology) - subject-
oriented PS.
With the help of the PS, you can present educational information on the
screen in various forms, initiate the processes of assimilating knowledge, acquiring
skills and (or) skills in educational or practical activities, effectively monitor
learning outcomes, training, repetition; to intensify the cognitive activity of
trainees, to form and develop certain types of thinking.
When developing and using a software tool for educational purposes, it
becomes necessary to create educational, methodological and instructional
materials that ensure the process of its application.
Consequently, there is a need to form the so-called software and
methodological support (PMO) of the educational process, which is a complex that
includes: a) educational software or educational software package; b) instruction
for the user of educational software or educational software package; c) description
of the methodology (guidelines) on the use of educational software or educational
software package [3].
The pedagogical expediency of using the PME in the educational process is
based on the goals of the development of the individual's personality and, in
addition, is based on a certain methodological purpose of the PS. The latter is
determined by methodological goals, the implementation of which is possible only

with the help of PS, or is due to the need to intensify the learning process,
transferring it to a qualitatively higher level. This creates grounds for the use of
software in teaching, which is ascertained by a pedagogical experiment or
substantiated by an assessment of the quality of software and software, for
example, according to special assessment sheets of the quality of educational
software.
Summarizing the above, we note that basically the expediency of using new
information technologies, in particular PS, is determined by their use as a means of
visualizing educational information, a means of formalizing knowledge about the
subject world, a tool for measuring, displaying and influencing the subject world.
