Say: 'Write articles "a" or "an".' Use gestures to show what to do. Go round the class and see how well the pupils write. Help if necessary. Write on the board "a", "an" and say: 'Before vowels we use "an" — "an aunt", and before consonants we use "a" — "a pupil".'

Objective: to consolidate the new words: aunt, uncle, cousin

This is a usual "Chain Drill" activity. Introduce the new material: I've got one cousin/two cousins.
Practise this with one pupil. Say: 'How many cousins have you got?'
Have the pupil answer for him/herself: 'I've got a cousin.'
You say for yourself: 'I've got two cousins.' Practise this structure with this pupil again, the other pupils watch and listen to you. After that you can ask the pupils to do the same procedure like this: PI: 'I've got a cousin.' P2: 'I've got two cousins.' P3: 'I've got four cousins.' and so on. Do the same with "aunt" and "uncle". To make the process faster, you can organise the Chain Drill in rows.

Steps Interaction
Divide the class into 2 teams. Put the flashcards with the words "He" and "She" on the board. Say: 'I'll say family members. One pupil from your team runs and taps on the flashcard and repeats what I said.'
Start the game and say: 'Granny'. One pupil from each team runs and taps on the relevant flashcard (She) and says: 'Granny'. Repeat the game with the words: grandad, mother, father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle and cousin as well. The team which finds more first will be the winner. Team work
