Grace:  Are competency-based questions 
common  in  interviews these days?
Oliver:  Definitely.  Certainly in western-based 
cultures, they have become almost standard 
practice in all  interviews.
Neil:  Hello, Vicky.  My name is Neil  Forrest, and 
this is  my colleague Julia Smith.  First of all,  we’d 
like to thank you very much  for  coming here 
today. We’ve read your CV and cover letter but 
wonder if you could tell  us a little bit more about 
your educational  background?
Vicky: Yes, of course.  I  grew up and went to 
school  in  Hong Kong. After that I went to City 
University in  Hong Kong where  I completed a 
bachelor’s degree in  Business Administration. 
After that I  moved to Manchester, where  I 
completed  a  Master’s in  Public  Relations at 
Manchester Metropolitan  University.
