17)Why has human activity affected some kinds of animals more than others?
Some species are more or less fragile to changes than others and rely on the nature more than others likewise. For example, squirrels almost entirely depend on trees in terms of food and habitat. With human interventions to the nature with deforestation, these animals lose major factors providing life to them. Meanwhile, birds are less exposed to human activities because they are able to migrate to less disturbed areas of the world.
18)Why do you think wild animals should be protected?
Wild animals help to maintain the balance between species. One example to demonstrate the point can be problems that emerged after the extinction of Tasmanian tigers. The population of the meerkat and pigeons which were the major prey for the tiger doubled. This caused damages to the agriculture of Tasmania and the populations of some insects and plants. So, wild animals should be protected to promote biodiversity.
19)Do you think that animals are important?
Yes, they are overly important. Animals are already indispensable parts of our lives. We use them as our food, means of transport, entertainment and as very close friends too. I am quite sure that the world become monotonous and hard if there were not animal species.
20)What should we do to protect endangered animals?
We can take a number steps. The ones currently in use include creating national parks and putting more military officers into a guarding role against poaching. Another way is to encourage genetic scientists to genetically stimulate the reproduction of endangered creatures.
21)What will happen when some species disappear on earth?
At first, not a single effect can be noticed. But in a long term, it can bring even disasters like it happened with aardvarks’ disappearance. They used to feed on insect pests like cockroaches and crickets. But once they became extinct, pests destroyed many hectares of crops. These kinds of example are too many and they truly reflect the effects of animal extinctions.
Weather
1)Do you think countries do enough to control climate change?
2) Do you agree with the claim that the world`s climate is changing?
3)What problems can global warming cause in the future?
4)Does weather affect your mood?
No, the condition of my mood does not depend on weather. At least I cannot remember any situation from my life when I was happy or sad depending on the weather.
5)Does weather have any impact on people’s daily activities?
Absolutely! People have many situations when an unexpected change in weather literally ruins their plans. For example, people of my country often complain that they could not accomplish certain plans like picnics or visits due to rain.
6)Where can people get weather reports?
Today people have quite many sources of such reports. For instance, news programs tend to portray weather reports after the main parts of news. Also, people have an opportunity to know the weather forecast by simply Googling it from the internet. With one click only, we can get forecasts for days, weeks or even a month ahead.
7)How do weather reports affect people’s life?
Many people make plans considering weather conditions. In my view, weather reports help people to plan everything accordingly. People can know whether they will need an umbrella, a thick coat or go out merely in shirts.
8)Why are people interested in the weather?
I think it is either for their own interest in meteorology or a casual curiosity . I mean, some people are genuinely interested in weather as a specific field but others, like my elder brother, find the weather an appropriate topic to start a conversation and to flirt to someone.
