General guideline

Understand the educational system in the US

In order to be a Medical Doctor in the US you need to complete :

• 4 years of bachelors degree
• 4 years of medical school
• At least 4 years of medical residency

I am going to to start with the 3 year of bachelors degree. My major is biomedical sciences, minor is pre-medicine.

• Type (Public or private)
• Cost of attendance
• Research facilities
• Scholarships for international students
• Rankings of the university
• % of international students within the student population

Continuation

• 4 years or 2 years institution
• Size (small, medium-sized, or large)
• Selectivity ( highly selective, more selective, somehow selective, less selective and open admission)
• Location( city, urban, suburban, rural area)

2.Write to the admission office

• Introduce yourself
• Explain your intention to transfer
• Introduce the Akfa University
• Mention your academic records
• Mention any extracurricular activities

• Get the response from the admission office. Pay attention how supportive they are, how fast they respond to your letters.
• Ask for a fee waiver.

3.Application process

4.Transfer of credits

In both cases you need to request the transcripts and syllabus from the Akfa University Administration

• Be ready to accept any kind of admission decision. If you got refused, don`t worry. There are many other great universities you can get into. Anyway you are already a medical student at Akfa University.
• If you got admitted into the university- Congratulations!
• Now it is time for a visa application!
