Aim:

Teaching, developing, educative, upbringing:

  • To improve learners writing skills

  • To be able to write the words correctly from memory

  • To be able to make micro dialogues on the basis of examples

  • To make sentences using the learnt grammar structure



Lesson outline



  1. Beginning stage (3 min)

  • Greeting. Saying: “Good morning, dear students…”

  • Checking attendance. “Who is absent today?”

  1. Warm up (4 min)

  • To warm up by watching video;

  • To check homework

  1. Main part:

  1. Pre- stages

Activity I. (5 min)
Objective: to be able to write words correctly and enrich pupils’ vocabulary
Materials: Colorful handout 1
Procedure:

  • Distribute handouts

  • Ask the pupil to look at the picture

  • Write down the new vocabulary about hairdressing equipment.

  1. While-stage

Activity II. Look and write. (6 min)
Objective: to be able to sentences from foreign language into mother tongue using the learnt words.
Materials: Handout 2
Procedure:

Activity III. “Act out your dialogue” (10 min)
Objective: To make and practice acting out dialogues
Materials: paper, pen
Procedure:

  • Divide to pairs the pupils and complete the dialogues

  • In pair the pupils act out the dialogues they have written.

  • If time allows, you can ask some pairs to act out for the whole class.

Activity IV. Write it up. (7 min)
Objective: to be able to write sentences
Materials: Board and pens
Procedure:

  • Split the class into teams and number the players in each team

  • Call out a word or a sentence followed by one of the team numbers, for example say number 3. All the number s race to the board and write up the sentence.

Activity V. “Find the mistake” (5 min)
Objective: to improve learners to memorize words
Materials: paper, pencil
Procedure:

  • Make groups of three

  • Explain that every group will write words related to the topic hairdressers on separate pieces of paper

  • The pupils have to make a mistake when writing words

  • They swap papers with other groups and make correction

  1. Feedback. (2 min)

  2. Assessment. (2 min)

  3. Home assignment (1 min)

  • To learn by heart new words and make sentences
