David Baggs
, FRAIA, alongside Mary-Lou Kelly, leads the team of Ecospecifier, a division of 
Natural Integrated Living Pty Ltd (NIL). NIL has nearly 50 years’ combined experience in delivering 
sustainable built environments to the commercial and residential sectors throughout Australia.
As eco-materials consultants, green building architects, sustainability facilitators consultants and 
educators, NIL specializes in facilitating high-level ESD performance in products, supply-chain 
design, construction, interior design, healthy built environments and renewable technology to some 
of Australia’s most internationally recognized ‘green’ projects. There is also a dedicated team keeping 
subscribers and manufacturers up to date with product information and communications. 
Greg Bamford
is a senior lecturer in architecture at The University of Queensland. He holds a PhD 
in philosophy on aspects of rationality and the scientific method, with publications on the philosophy 
of science and design. His current research interests include the relations between housing and 
urban densities and the social and environmental aspects of housing and neighbourhood design 
and housing with shared facilities and spaces. He teaches design studies and people/environment 
studies in architecture.
Paul Bannister 
is Managing Director of Exergy Australia, one of the country’s leading energy-
efficiency consultancies. He specializes in commercial and institutional building energy-efficiency 
in both new and existing buildings, and has worked on hundreds of projects throughout the sector.
He has a particular interest in the question of how buildings achieve efficient performance, having 
extensive experience of how buildings fail to work in practice. Paul is also the primary technical 
author of the Australian Building Greenhouse Rating Scheme.
