2) Picture dictation

  Tell Pts:

  Dictation 2 is called ‘Picture dictation’ and you won’t write words, but draw objects.
  
• 
  Listen and draw several objects.
  
  • 
    Check the instruction.
    
  • 
    Dictate location of the objects in the picture. Don’t dictate too fast to let Pts keep up with your pace.
    

Note: The words in brackets are optional. Dictate them if Pts are able to cope with these words:
In the middle of a room there is a square table. There is a book, a lamp and a vase with beautiful flowers on the table. There is a ball under the table. There is a chair on the left of the table. There is an armchair between the table and the cat. There is a carpet on the floor. There is a round clock on the wall.

3) Change the text dictation

  The name of the dictation is ‘Change the text’, because you should change the text when you write the dictation.

  Write all verbs in the dictation in the Present Simple, 3^rd person, singular.
  
• 
  If I say ‘worked’, you’ll write ‘works’, if I say ‘ran’, you’ll write ‘runs’.

  I’ll dictate the text 3 times: first - the whole text, second – sentence by sentence making pauses for you to write and third – again the whole text for you to check your dictations.

4) Whistle dictation
